Trump says gas prices could be same or 'a little bit higher' before midterms

Source: USA Today

President Donald Trump said the price of oil and gas could remain elevated before the midterm elections in November, hours after in-person peace talks between between U.S. and Iran failed.

"It could be the same or maybe a little bit higher, but it should be around the same," Trump told Fox News’ "Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo in an interview on April 12.

The comment came on heels of a record 21.2% spike in gasoline prices, which marked the largest monthly increase in recorded history, according to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on April 10. Over the year, gas prices were up 18.9%.

The soaring gas prices caused a sharp uptick in inflation, which rose by 3.3% year-over-year in March.

because he cannot admit making a mistake or being ignorant and bumbling, so he has to pretend prices being as high as they are was foreseen (and in fact are better than foreseen).

But that necessarily means he voluntarily takes credit/blame for the price rise, because he knew this would be the effect. If Dem candidates cannot use this quote against their opponents in Nov, they are hapless and we are lost.

“So, do you believe the price of oil and gas will be lower before the midterm elections?” Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo asked Trump in an interview on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“I hope so. I mean, I think so, it could be, it could be, or the same or maybe a little bit higher, but it should be around the same,” Trump responded.

So, they could go down, or they could go up, or they could stay about the same.

Well, thank you, Nostradamus.

so Usay and Kusay can take advantage of the fire sale. Then before the end of the week, all of a sudden the navy will be ordered to allow oil tankers in and out again.
