Trump Yanks Millions From Catholic Charities Amid Pope Feud

Source: Daily Beast

The Trump administration has abruptly canceled a multimillion-dollar contract with a Catholic charity that houses and cares for migrant children amid the president’s feud with Pope Leo XIV.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami has helped provide vital services to unaccompanied minors for more than 60 years, but could now shut down within a matter of months after the administration canceled an $11 million federal contract.

The decision comes amid tensions between President Donald Trump and Pope Leo, the leader of the Catholic Church, over issues such as migration and the war in Iran. Trump has launched a series of attacks against the American-born pontiff, including suggesting Leo was “WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy.” The 79-year-old president also received intense criticism after he shared an image depicting himself as Jesus Christ on social media.

Writing for the Miami Herald, Thomas Wenski, archbishop of Miami, said it is “baffling” that the government would want to shut down a service that has helped thousands of children who entered the U.S. without parents or guardians since the 1960s.

The archbishop has no idea who or what he's dealing with. The creature exults in the deaths of children. It believes that "suffer the little children come to me" means to make them suffer.

It prevented tax-free churches from endorsing political candidates, but also kept the government from messing with churches and trying to dictate what they preach.

... that ALL expenditures must originate in the House, and therefore, any curtailment of funds allocated must be approved by the House committee that appropriated the funds in the first place? I'm not a super hardcore policy wonk, but I think that's how it's supposed to work. But we are dealing with the spineless sycophants on the Dark Side of the Aisle who wear out multiple pairs of kneepads in their efforts to fluff Trump's fragile ego, regardless of how often he usurps their authority, and tramples the Constitution in the process.

I would like to know under what rock Thomas Wenski, archbishop of Miami, has been living under for the past ten years. Have none of these people been paying attention?

Pope Leo XIV is more respected and loved in the USA than trDUMP.

trDUMP is 80 years old... the Pope is 70. The Pope will most likely out live djt.

Pope Leo XIV is of the no, no, ethnic heritage of Hispanic. trDUMP gets a bitter & sour taste in his mouth because of that he only likes Caucasian folk.

Pope Leo XIV is a leader of the Catholic Church - has 60 million followers in the USA, and 1.407 billion followers world wide. Whereas trDUMP has 11.2 million followers on Truth Social.

Pope Leo XIV speaks six Languages: Italian, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Latin. trDUMP on the other hand can barely speak but one cohesive sentence in English without rambling on and on about nothing.

sadistic in nature. He's hurting little kids to make a political point as he tells the Pope that the Pope is wrong to preach moral teachings. There is no moral compass in the White House.
