WASHINGTON Vice President JD Vance tried to clean up recent comments by Donald Trump in which the president said he isn't considering Americans' financial hardships as he negotiates a deal to end the war in Iran.
"I think that's a misrepresentation of what the president said," Vance told reporters on May 13 in response to a reporter's question during a White House event announcing an anti-fraud initiative.
Trump, before embarking on a multi-day trip to China, told reporters on May 12, "Not even a little bit" when asked to what extent he's motivated by Americans' financial situation amid rising gas prices to reach a deal that ends the war in Iran. "I dont think about Americans financial situation. I dont think about anybody. I think about one thing. We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. Thats all," the president said.
Playing clean-up on remarks that Democrats quickly seized on, Vance said he agrees with Trump that Iran shouldn't have a nuclear weapon and called preventing the spread of nuclear weapons "probably the most important thing" the administration can do to keep Americans safe.

Besides, there was no imminent threat of Iran having a nuclear weapon. Even if they went full speed ahead developing nukes and long range missiles, experts assess the earliest they could strike the US with an ICBM would be 2035.
Which would, of course, be suicide for Iran.
The only truthful statement was that Trump does not GAF about the finances of Americans struggling to get by.
You can never trust his words. His actions verify that he does not care.
And look at the facts. Iran was NOT close to having a nuclear weapon. This war was launched for no good reason, and to a large extent without reason. This POtuS is an ignoramus with mental patholigies rendering him unfit for any office. He listened to Bibi Netanyahu and the megalomaniacal voices in his own head.

We will see when our collective voices are heard, despite the efforts by MAGAts such as yourself who are going all-out to shut us voters down.
