UAW members vote to strike at Nexteer

Saginaw, Mich. (WNEM) — The UAW said Local 699 members voted to authorize a strike at Nexteer after failing to reach agreement on new contract terms.

86% of members voted to authorize the strike, the UAW said.

All UAW Local 699 members employed at Nexteer Automotive will continue to report to work as scheduled. The union said it will remain focused on building quality parts for its customers.

The union’s bargaining committee will continue meeting with Nexteer in pursuit of an agreement and will keep its members informed as negotiations continue.
