Donald Trump announced Saturday that a major peace agreement with Iran is near finalization, following a high-level conference call from the Oval Office with key regional leaders.

Writing on Truth Social, the U.S. president stated that a Memorandum of Understanding has been “largely negotiated,” subject to final details being settled between the U.S., the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a broad coalition of Middle Eastern and South Asian nations.

The breakthrough comes after a series of calls involving the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Turkey and Pakistan's military chief.

Good Job Donny. Hegseth fired the Navy Admiral who told Trump and others that Iran would
close the Strait of Hormuz if a war would break out and Trump tore up the deal that Sec. of State
Kerry and Sec. of Energy Ernie Moniz got done with Iran that prevented Iran from ever having a
nuclear weapon and all the deaths, economic hardships, and global shit storms is on them.

BREAKING: Trump announces ‘largely negotiated’ agreement with Iran

President Donald Trump announced Saturday that his administration had “largely” reached a deal with Iran that would include reopening the Strait of Hormuz following a call with Muslim leaders of Middle East countries and separately, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Details were scarce, including how the framework would address the future of Iran’s nuclear program.

“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed,” Trump said in a social media post, citing Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E. and Jordan, among others. “Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well.”

Trump added that “final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly.” He said that among “many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened,” but he did not elaborate on whether it included Iran’s enriched uranium.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei suggested earlier Saturday on state media that the “framework agreement”would give Tehran “between 30 to 60 days” to resolve sticking points over its stockpile. GOP critics, including Trump’s former CIA director and secretary of state from his first administration, blasted the apparent agreement for not achieving Trump’s main stated goal for going to war: to put a permanent end to Iran’s nuclear program.

.....Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a key Trump congressional ally, warned against agreeing to a deal that could wind up giving Iran the appearance of dominance.

“If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution,” Graham said in a social media post Saturday.

It sounds like trump is caving to Iran due to the gas price issues and worries about midterms. Even if a deal is struck this week, gas prices will not go down until close to or after midterms

According to Iranian and Arab sources Trump agreed to
-compensate Tehran by releasing blocked funds (at least $6 billion)
-lift sanctions
-remove American forces from around Iran (Iranian sources more specifically mention the naval assets in the region)
-lift the blockade
-ceasefire in all fronts including in Lebanon (basically allowing Tehran to rearm its proxy network and help Hizballah reasserts its control in Lebanon)
In exchange for
-gradual reopening of Strait of Hormuz with the transit remaining under Tehran’s management and control
-negotiations over other issues with no hard deadline (the 30-day negotiation window can be extended)
Washington has not denied any of these claims.
This is a total surrender, pretty symbolic if it is announced on Memorial Day.

39. We aren't bomb now because we are very low on ordnance
Sun May 24, 2026, 11:43 AM

It took weeks to stage the Navy in theater. I assume they came with a full load of ordnance, and everybody assumed that the "war" would be over in a couple of days -- just like the 4-day prediction of Russia conquering Kyiv.

There has been a lot of talk about how many rockets and drones Iran has left, but the consensus is that they have at least half of what they started with, and are re-supplying / rebuilding every day.

There has also been some talk in the media about the asymmetric nature of this war -- that the US is spending million-dollar systems to fend off attacks from drones costing $20,000. And there has been talk that it might take 10 years of production for the US to rebuild the desired supplies of expensive things like cruise missiles. What nobody mentions is that, even if we have enough ordnance left to keep pounding Iran, it has to be transported from the US a half a world away. And you probably won't airlift most of that. By ship, this takes 2-3 weeks, and at the rate we were shooting off rockets, it might take multiple round trips to fully resupply the forces, in other words 2 months.

Trump is stalling because we don't have the ammo in place, plus we have lost access to some of the bases where we would normally keep supplies.

However, shortly after Trump's post, Iran's Fars news agency disputed the claim and said the Strait of Hormuz would stay under Iran's control, according to the latest exchanged text between the two countries.

Furthermore, Fars called Trump's characterization that deal was close to the finish line "inconsistent with reality."

Yeah, ok - but I'm not buying it.

Donny boy, your faith in American moral and technological superiority in war has failed you.
(Not like that hasn't happened before.)

The Straight may be opened up, but it will have a permanent transit levy applied, and you can forget any Nobel peace prize you were wet dreaming about.

And the Iranians now have more reason to drive any US presence in the Middle East out, and build a few long-range nuclear weapons, no matter what they agree to.
Nukes, not to use, but to force America to cut back on the bully boy tactics and treat the ancient country of Persia with a bit more respect.

King Donny's 'kiss of death' in action!
