6.0 magnitude earthquake rocks Big Island

HONOLULU (KHON2) A 6.0 magnitude earthquake rocked the Big Island at 9:47 p.m. on Friday, May 22.
There is no tsunami threat to the islands.
The 6.0 magnitude earthquake, which came from the southern part of the Big Island in the Honaunau-Naopoopoo area, was followed by a secondary aftershock at 3.2 magnitude, generally in the same area.
Following these two earthquakes, there was also a third earthquake that shook the islands at 1.8 magnitude as of 9:57 p.m.

Things got rattled around. She said a few things fell, but thankfully that was it.

(172,485 posts)Oddly enough, the week before Memorial Day was also when me and family had gone to Hawai'i too, except 40 years ago (1986).

So far, no notice from them.
