Donald Trump's 'painful and disabling' chronic disease explained after hospital visit
Source: The Mirror
President Donald Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for another routine check-up Tuesday.
This marked Trump's, 79, third medical appointment in 13 months - just hours after he was seen "swaying" in an alarming hew health video. He visited Walter Reed in April 2025 for his yearly physical, before returning in October for what administration officials described as a "scheduled follow-up." He also made a trip to his local dentist in Florida on May 2.
Details regarding the exact nature of today's visit remain unclear, but Trump took to TruthSocial as soon as the appointment ended. He wrote, "Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House. President DJT." It comes after a former Trump staffer revealed his 4 chilling predictions for what the president will do next.
Concerns about the president's health have intensified since the beginning of his second term, particularly with Trump set to celebrate his 80th birthday next month. Trump's physician has publicly confirmed just one medical condition affecting the president a chronic illness frequently seen in people of his age.

(8,214 posts)For the (fake) concern about Dony's health and the (real) concern about the health of America as a country, I highly recommend Donny retires from public office, stops pretending he is a leader of any kind, puts his feet up and stops flying everywhere.
The last two points I believe are beneficial for people with failing hearts and venous insufficiency (both euphemisms for clogged arteries and a weak pump.)
The upper age limit and an easily enforceable activation of the 25th amendment though, need fixing soon.

(55,458 posts)Unless you have full access to someone's medical chart and/or in the examining room with the patient, it's mostly detective work. And sometimes, even that's not enough. You need information to make a theory and then to prove it.
My father died of a partially dissected aorta, a slow bleed into the chest. I had to extrapolate this with the help of his cardiologist opining that his symptoms of a backache sounded like the aorta theory; same with my cousin, who's also a cardiologist. How did the aorta become separated? My father rear-ended a van at the gas pumps. No air bag. Refused to be examined at a hospital. Didn't go to any of his doctors. Kept it a secret from all his children.
Found out about the accident when his traffic offense tickets came in the mail one week after his death.
I inspected his car with an insurance investigator. We found that the brake pedal was very worn at the right lower corner. And we were fortunate that we found a pair of Dad's shoes in the back seat. The worn part of the brake matched the shoe. Because of the layout of the brake and accelerator pedals, Dad had been driving, using the corner of the brake to stop, not the full pedal. And his foot slipped from the brake to the accelerator, causing his car to heavily bump into the van. And his chest hit the steering column. Being 92 at the time, that was enough to partially dislodge his aorta from his heart.
I didn't have to know how Dad died, but I wanted to know all the same.
Back to Trump. We're all speculating and any guess is good as the next. I trust RFK, Jr. will seal his death certificate.

(39,198 posts)I was about 230 lbs. at 5'11". Since then, I have lost 40 lbs. but still have many of the symptoms Trump has. I am 78 now
and have been dealing with many of his symptoms for 20 years. I hate to break the bad news but he could around another 20 years.

(4,214 posts)Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that develops when veins become damaged and fail to work effectively. Under normal circumstances, valves within the veins transport blood from throughout the body to the heart, but chronic venous insufficiency restricts this blood flow, leading to blood pooling in the legs.
Johns Hopkins Medicine describes the condition as "not a serious health threat," though it can be "painful and disabling." Chronic venous insufficiency affects 1 in 20 adults, and typically presents in those over the age of 50.
Without proper treatment, the condition can lead to pain, swelling, cramps, varicose veins, and leg ulcers.
The condition also can lead to DVT -- Deep Vein Thrombosis -- clots forming in deep veins, typically the veins in the legs. This is a very dangerous condtion because a clot can become dislodged and travel through the circulatory system and become lodged in the arteies or veins in the brain or in the heart.
If a DVT breaks loose and lodges in the brain, it causes a stroke. Depending on the size of the clot and location in the brain, death can result in a matter of minutes.
If a DVT breaks lose and lodges in the heart, it can cause a serious, even fatal, heart attack.

(114,709 posts)but having the emperor of the universe go in every 6 months is pretty unremarkable.
Raising this much alarm over venous insufficiency in an 80 year old man is a little remarkable unless he's been too vain to wear compression stockings/ACE wraps (if he's too fat) and refuses to take diuretics because of the inconvenience of frequent bathroom visits. It's either that or they're starting to prepare his ignorant base for his departure,, probably after midterm results spoil all his despotic fun.
It might also put his uncharacteristic non working retreat to Camp David (a place he dislikes) into clearer focus: he went to sulk.
