Israeli minister confirms goal of large-scale expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza

Source: The Guardian

Israel’s defence minister has said he is committed to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza through large-scale migration of Palestinians as part of Israel’s long-term plans for the territory.

Israel Katz said the government would implement a plan for large numbers of Palestinians to leave Gaza “at the right time and in the right manner”, in a statement on Wednesday marking the targeted killing of Mohammed Odeh, Hamas’s most recent military commander.

Pushing for mass departures violates Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan for Gaza, which Israel signed last year. The second point of the plan states: “Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”
...
Israel-based human rights organisations and lawyers have warned that the conditions Israel has imposed on Gaza mean no departure can be considered voluntary and the policy constitutes planning for ethnic cleansing.

They are losing the support of people around the world, especially among younger generations and those like me who see them as a terrorist nation committing genocide. Other countries need to levy severe economic sanctions until Israelis decide to elect a government that is not a right-wing murdering enterprise.

In1947, the U. N. partitioned Palestine creating the country of Israel and designating Gaza and the West Bank as Palestinian future states. This move significantly increased the ongoing danger in the region, and one would think that Israelis would show appreciation and do right by Palestinians. Palestine had a government with actual passports when Partition was done.

Instead, Israel appears to be clearing Gaza and West Bank to grab these territories. I am absolutely not antisemitic, but really...

establish a nation state instead of refusing unless they could have ALL the territory, with no Israeli state.

I think that, after 70+ years of constant terrorist attacks on Israel, the October 7th attacks were the last straw for Israeli people.

But that does not excuse Israeli abuses of Palestinians in the West Bank. It does not excuse Israeli settlements in the West Bank when they occupied it after Palestinians and their allies made war on Israel. The settlements after the war ended were illegal.

I have read and heard many complaints about strict Israeli security at the border between Israel and Gaza prior to October 7th. But chronic terrorist attacks within Israel by Palestinians who crossed into Israel made strict border security necessary. October 7th demonstrates why.

I am strongly opposed to Israel removing Palestinians from their land and taking it over. I understand Israeli anxiety over never ending terrorist attacks from Palestine, but the situation is complicated by Netanyahu RW extremist allied gov't and his use of the war to evade his own removal and trial for crimes that he has been investigated for.

With Hamas out of Palestine, the Palestinians should have the right and opportunity for their own independent state. Unfortunate for them that they chose for decades to attack Israel instead of working on having their own state. But now, the world should be aiding them in reconstruction and establishing a stable, peaceful nation.

Biden would not have allowed this to happen. Neither would Harris. But shortsighted followers of Hamas propaganda with their chants of Genocide Joe contributed to this situation by withdrawing support for Harris and allowing Trump to become president and give full support to Netanyahu's ethnic cleansing program.

Trump is in full support of this ethnic cleansing of Gaza, no matter what he says. He wants his Gaza resort.

What an effing mess and none of it needed to happen. So many self-serving people from all sides, and now the ordinary Palestinian people and their families suffer the most while nobody acts on their behalf now.
