ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Flight attendants employed by Horizon, part of the Alaska Air Group, voted to authorize a strike Tuesday afternoon.
Lisa Davis Warren, Master Executive Council President for Horizon Air Flight Attendants, AFA-CWA, said the vote does not mean flight attendants are walking off the job immediately.
The goal is not necessarily to go on strike, but its to really make sure, ensure that management understands its time to get this contract done and its time to pay our flight attendants a livable wage, make meaningful improvements in their benefits and work rules improvements across the board in the contract, she said.
The AFA stated in a press release that the vote is the result of seriously delayed bargaining and months of outrageously low economic proposals from Horizon management.
