Federal judge bars Trump from implementing proof of citizenship requirement to vote

Source: Yahoo News

BOSTON (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday permanently barred President Donald Trump's administration from implementing most of his first executive order on elections, part of which sought to require people to show documentary proof of citizenship when they register to vote.

The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Denise Casper in Boston effectively converts a preliminary injunction she issued a year ago, in which she temporarily blocked many of Trump's efforts to overhaul elections, into a permanent ban.

is required to get the id so when you register to vote with your secretary of states office, they already have that information from your state id or drivers license.

So this whole requirement is just a hassle to make it harder for younger or elderly voters to vote. Kind of the same reason Trump is trying to ban mail in ballots.

and the whole birth certificate thing for older generations became a mess before the modern automation... And this is exasperated when you have people born in one state but having moved to another and their birth state is unable to find or timely pull up the record for the now out-of-state requestor.

I can attest to how stupid this is. It cost me several 10's of dollars and a LOT of time and aggravation, to finally get that REAL ID. WHY should I have to go through the whole scenario again to fulfill my national obligation of voting? Ptah! I spit on these people who put the elderly and women, especially through this nightmare!
