CapMetro workers authorize strike amid 'stalled' contract negotiations

AUSTIN (KXAN) The union representing CapMetro workers announced Tuesday that 99.5% of its members voted to authorize a strike, if necessary, against the Austin transit provider.
It comes as the unions contract negotiations with CapMetro subcontractor Keolis have stalled, according to Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1091.
Times up, Keolis! This vote sends a powerful message that our members are unified and strong, said Local 1091 President Brent Payne. Were sick and tired of being sick and tired, and were taking a stand now against the companys disrespect.
Keolis told KXAN that it was engaging in the negotiations in good faith and were committed to maintaining a collaborative and respectful relationship.
