One can certainly see why the Iranians might want to to do this, but I hope they're too smart to do it. The last thing they should want to do is make Trump a martyr & risk getting more of the world on the side of Trump's war.

What has worried me is that those around Trump, who are too cowardly to use the 25th Amendment, may stage another "attempt" on Trump and blame it on the Iranians or whoever the enemy of the day is.
