Trump to assert voting machine vulnerabilities in Thursday speech

Source: Reuters

July 13, 2026 5:08 PM EDT Updated 6 hours ago

July 13 WASHINGTON,(Reuters) - President Donald Trump will give a national address on Thursday night about newly declassified intelligence on investigations into U.S. elections and what the White House says are voting machine vulnerabilities, an ‌administration official told Reuters on Monday.

The Republican president could use his televised speech to again press his false claim that he lost the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden due to massive fraud.

Numerous courts, ballot audits and his first-term Justice Department found no evidence of such fraud, including vote-machine rigging. The federal cybersecurity watchdog joined other federal, state and local officials in declaring the vote "the most secure in American history."

Propelled by Trump's repeated claims that U.S. elections are “rigged,” the administration has for over a year sought to increase federal oversight of election administration and reshape the way Americans vote — an effort that legal experts say would take power away from states in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Tue Jul 14, 2026, 09:40 AM
Tuesday

I didn’t take the time to Google details so I’m doing this from memory.

1. After the 2020 election, one of Trump’s favorite claims was that Venezuela owned Dominion Voting Systems and, thus, Venezuela had rigged Dominion voting equipment to vote for Biden – or some such bullshit. The claims were universally debunked.

2. Trump now has former Venezuelan President Maduro in custody.

3. Dominion Voting Systems was recently sold to a Republican billionaire.

So – on Thursday night, Trump will reveal:

1. Maduro has confessed to rigging the election through rigging Dominion machines.

2. The new owner of Dominion will reveal his investigation has shown that, sure enough, the machines were rigged.

He doesn't care how much money or time or manpower he throws at something he wants. He has no limits. He just keeps going back and going back.

The problem with his repeated attempts is that each one wears down the ability for the opposition to fight back. Because each opposition DOES have a limit to time and money and manpower. He keeps hoping that will happen and he will get a better outcome. If it's only a glimmer of something that he can use for another attack, then he would consider it well worth the time and money and manpower, and continue to attack again.

He learned this from Putin because it has been Putin's MO from the start.

35. Trump Fired Election Commissioners And Got Maduro Confessions. Now He Can Claim No Voter System Security
Tue Jul 14, 2026, 11:40 AM
Tuesday

If there are no more commissioners responsible for voter security and the certification of voting systems, then the election results will be challenged and no elected Dems will be seated during a protracted time of "investigations" that will be conducted by partisan hacks in the Justice Department. So if voting systems used in blue states are not certified, they can just throw out the results counted by those systems not certified. Even if this is not successful, he will have sown seeds of doubt and chaos about the validity of the elections as he has done before. He seems to be publicly orchestrating a obvious conspiracy to commit fraud upon the electorate. All the people involved must someday be charged for such crimes. In addition to this, he will also say that confessions made (under duress) by the kidnapped President Maduro about a widespread campaign of foreign interference in elections makes our voting systems unreliable. This is his last stand and he will do or say anything, no matter how insane, to try and alter the results of the 2026 midterm elections.

Every single seat in the House is up for election. Meaning all 435 seats are technically vacated at the same time prior to the new Congress being seated (even those who were reelected). Therefore there will be no elected Republican to block Democratic electees from being seated. All 435 (including those reelected) will then be seated at the same time.

Thanks for pointing out that Speaker Johnson cannot gum up the works as I put it. But you also say it is impossible for "anyone else" to do that as well. So are you saying that Trump and/or his allies in and out of government do not have possible plans to interfere in the 2026 midterm elections? Marc Elias of Democracy Docket documents numerous ways Trump and his agents are actively seeking to interfere with these elections. He also describes ways to fight back against such attacks. It seems to be a fact shared by others far more informed than me that there is, and will be, some considerable chaos surrounding the midterm elections and the counting of the results.

Obviously Trump is trying to and some Republican states may try as well. My point was strictly that Republicans can't stop elected Democrats from being seated in the House. Keep in mind approximately half the seats in the House represent states with Democratic governors. Also, the vast majority of attempts to interfere will not work. The one thing with the best chance of working to some degree is voter suppression . Overwhelming turnout will nullify those efforts.
