Trump team seeks global help targeting left-wing 'political terrorists'
Source: USA Today
"The daylong gathering was meant to escalate the administration's campaign against a growing transnational 'far left' threat that many experts say doesn't exist.
WASHINGTON White House Homeland Security Adviser Stephen Miller on July 16 warned foreign diplomats that they must help the United States crush left-wing political terrorists that are operating in our country" because they pose an existential threat that, if unchecked, will ultimately destroy society.
"Here in the United States, we have taken the necessary and essential action formally recognizing left-wing violence as a form of political terrorism that is a direct threat to our national security and the survival of our republican form of government, Miller said.
Miller, who is also President Donald Trumps deputy chief of staff, delivered the politically charged remarks at the State Departments inaugural Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism before an audience of invited foreign diplomats..."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio convened representatives from over 60 countries for a summit at the State Department to address a global rise of left-wing extremism and political terrorism. Rubio argued that legacy-institutions apply a double standard and excuse left-wing violence and urged countries to cooperate to "crush this evil forever." White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also made remarks at the event.Show Less

"Secretary of State Marco Rubio has invited senior ministers from more than 60 countries to a meeting next week about what the Trump administration views as a major peril: the resurgence of transnational far-left terrorism, according to documents reviewed by The Washington Post.
The meeting has prompted consternation among career and political U.S. officials, some European allies and independent analysts who do not see the threat in the same terms. Some U.S. officials told The Post that they worry it is part of a Trump administration effort to use powerful counterterrorism tools to crack down on U.S. activists they view as left-wing extremists.
The administrations counterterrorism czar, Sebastian Gorka, has had discussions with colleagues about using foreign terrorism labels for antifa to justify going after Americans with links to the movement, a loosely knit association of far-left activists who militantly oppose fascism and right-wing ideologies, three current and former U.S. officials said.
A linkage to foreign terrorist groups can unlock certain investigative tools, such as surveillance, said one U.S. counterterrorism official, who like several other officials interviewed for this article spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal discussions and to avoid retribution..."
Conversation summary from the WaPo article
"The comments express strong criticism of the Trump administration's stance on Antifa, emphasizing that Antifa is not an organized group but rather an anti-fascist ideology. Many commenters argue that the administration's focus on Antifa is a distraction from the real threat posed by far-right extremism, as evidenced by events like the January 6th Capitol attack. There is also significant disapproval of figures like Marco Rubio and Sebastian Gorka, with commenters suggesting that their actions align with fascist tendencies and undermine democratic values."
Secretary Bessent Delivers Remarks Before the Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism

"... For Treasury, the application of our authorities to combat these networks represents the natural evolution of our mission. Through our Office of Foreign Assets Control, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and IRS-CI we have spent decades developing the worlds most sophisticated financial counterterrorism capabilities. And we are now mobilizing some of the same tools that we have deployed against terrorists abroad to confront this emerging threat here in the homeland. Like every form of illicit finance, these networks rely on the global financial system. It is our mandate to deny terrorist groups access to those channels.
Now, we think of nonprofits and charities as good, altruistic organizations. Most of them are. We think that they represent the very best of civil society. Many of them do.
But the very qualities that make these institutions worthy of the publics trust can also make them appealing to those who endeavor to exploit it.
At President Trumps direction, Treasury is expanding its efforts to identify organizations that abuse charitable and nonprofit structures as vehicles for illicit finance..."

Hell, the reason they're going "transnational" with this bullshit is because they know damn well there's no real domestic far-left terrorism in a country where the Overton window skews so stupidly far to the right, and also because the regime has long been attempting to push fascism internationally and interfere with EU politics.
This is their petulant, childish payback for all the investigations into right-wing terrorism under past administrations, because THAT is actually a major, common, pervasive threat both in the US and around the world.
