On July 4, Ukrainian Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin announced the signing of a landmark agreement with Denmark that will enable Ukrainian defense companies to establish production facilities on Danish territory.

The agreement, signed in Copenhagen alongside Denmark’s Minister of Industry Morten Bødskov, marks a major step forward in bilateral defense cooperation.

It positions Denmark as the first country to host Ukrainian-made defense technologies for local manufacturing, scaling, and supply to Ukraine’s armed forces.

“This agreement opens a new chapter in international defense collaboration,” said Smetanin. “Denmark was the first to finance weapons production by Ukrainian companies, and now it’s the first to welcome our technologies for joint manufacturing.
