BREAKING: In a First, Majority of Democratic Senators Vote to Stop Arming Israel

26 Democrats joined Bernie Sanders in his effort to end certain weapons' sales to Israel - but were blocked by 70 pro-war senators, including every Republican present. Here's how the vote went.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Late Wednesday night, the US Senate once again blocked a Bernie Sanders-led effort to end certain weapons sales to Israel, which is currently starving 2 million Palestinians.

Senate Joint Resolution 34 – To prohibit the US-taxpayer financed $675.7 million sale of 201 MK 83 1,000-pound bombs; 4,799 BLU-110A/B General Purpose 1,000-pound bombs; 1,500 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits for MK 83 bombs; 3,500 JDAM guidance kits for MK 83 bombs; and related logistics and technical support services.

snip*
Senate Joint Resolution 41 – To prohibit the sale of tens of thousands of fully automatic assault rifles.
All told, twenty-seven senators voted for at least one of the resolutions. Not a single Republican voted for either of the resolutions.

There's No Auschwitz in Gaza. But It's Still Genocide
This is precisely what genocide looks like, write Israeli historians Amos Goldberg and Daniel Blatman

snip*
In the context of Gaza, Schabas believes that the case against Israel for genocide – which was filed in the International Court of Justice by South Africa, with 14 other countries in the process of joining – is robust, due to both the countless genocidal statements made by Israeli decision-makers, and the nature of the actions themselves. These include the systematic starvation of the Gaza population, the massive destruction of infrastructure, the ethnic cleansing of the northern Strip, the bombing of areas designated as "safe," and more.

Amos Goldberg: 'What is happening in Gaza is a genocide because Gaza does not exist anymore'
Given the scale of the massacres and destruction perpetrated by the Israeli army in Gaza, the Israeli historian, a specialist of the Holocaust, says in an interview with Le Monde that his country 'criminally overreacted' to the October 7 massacres.

Is it any wonder we have masked Nazis in the streets rounding up people?

Neti better beware that he doesn't make the same mistake Hamas made. As he bombed all of Gaza, harming the innocent to get to Hamas, so can Israel be harmed with embargos because of Neti.
