We have lost the courts, the media, congress etc etc. I just want to be elsewhere right now.

I soooo want to be somewhere else as well.

So little resistance. Every day there is a new evisceration of our country, our democracy, and with few exceptions it is being allowed to happen. God, I hate what this country has become in just over six months.

He and they have turned our government into a criminal organization.

The opposition includes parts of the media and the Dem party. We can't give up.

He thinks he has the power to arrest judges who rule against him.

big time. MSNBC and to some extent CNN report what's happening and people mostly disapprove, but there's no systemic outrage from the media, and as long as FoxNews and other rightwing outlets are OK with everything, no scandal goes anywhere. It's sick.

Trump's ignoring the Constitution he swore to defend and protect and ongoing destruction of American institutions just delights Putin.

I just finished reading Maddow's Prequel -- the source of her chilling podcast of the same name -- and it lists the names of prominent senators and representatives (all Republicans) who promoted Nazi philosophy and praised Hitler. The Nazis had them utilize their congressional perogatives (especially the franking privilege) to distribute their propaganda, and even provided them texts for speeches given on the House and Senate floors. The Nazis knew then -- as our adversaries do now -- that the only way to defeat the US is internally, to encourage and amplify divisions between race, class, and color.

I've spoken with several friends about this over the last couple of days. We all feel the emotional toll that this is taking. Many of us are heart sick and some are seeing physical manifestations.

We have GOT to figure out a way to beat this asshole at his own game.

I've heard this so many times over a long period of time and it seems to be true, metaphorically.
