Russell Vought says Government Accountability Office 'shouldn't exist'
(The Hill) The director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russell Vought, said Wednesday that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) should not exist.
Were not big fans of GAO. They are a quasi-legislative independent entity and something that shouldnt exist, Vought said while addressing attendees at the National Conservatism Conference in Washington, D.C., as multiple news outlets reported.
President Trumps administration and some Republicans have long accused the GAO, which was created in 1921, of partisanship.
The GAO says it provides Congress, the leaders of executive agencies and the American public with timely, fact-based, non-partisan information that can be used to improve government and save taxpayers billions of dollars.

(43,662 posts)It is so inconvenient for those like Vought. Who knew facts were partisan. Who knew 34 felony convictions meant so little to so many. And who the hell cares what the SC bases their rulings on. Theyre Christians after all.

(779 posts)Hate the GAO because they hating being held accountable and dont think anyone should have oversight over them or their actions. Makes it harder for them to get away with illegal shit when someone is always watching them.
