'Charlie Kirk Says Gun Deaths 'Unfortunately' Worth it to Keep 2nd Amendment'

(Newsweek) "Charlie Kirk, the conservative founder and president of Turning Point USA, said during an organizational event on Wednesday that gun deaths in exchange for the preservation of Second Amendment rights is part of America's reality."

"Kirk's comments come about one week after three children and three adults were killed at the Christian Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee."

"The Nashville mass shooting was the 130th mass shooting in the United States in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive, an online database of gun violence incidents across America using data collected from law enforcement, media, government and commercial sources...The U.S. has averaged more than one mass shooting per day since the start of 2023, per the archive, which puts the nation on track to exceed the 647 recorded mass shootings of 2022."

asserted that it was a rational trade, and disparaged those of us who think otherwise.

Well, perhaps I should respect his rationality and not be upset, outraged, or whatever irrational-adjacent label he would have used for my usual reaction to gun killings...

8. Of course it does. Tolerance of political violence is a self-perpetuating vicious cycle.

11. I'm so old. HOW OLD ARE YOU? I'm so old that I remember when military grade weapons were illegal for civilians.

Speaking of Epstein, some of our "foundling fathers" (sic, abandoned by the "mother country" ) had a few escapades of the Hellfire Club variety.

Impeach the short-sighted fools. Wikipedia mentions "rakes". Apt.

12. 😁 I will be 75 in Dec. Yes, for some reason we have become infatuated with guns.

I grew up with guns and never thought that much about it. I live in the country and still have several guns for varmints, and deer rifles and shotgun I've accumulated over the years. The proliferation of handguns, assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, are all a modern era things and I think are insane and makes the world a lot less safe.

I’m sorry, I don’t give a fuck. Live by the sword, die by the sword. They must have missed that part in the Trump Bible.
