In the men's freestyle skiing halfpipe qualifying event at the Winter Olympics today, Team USA's Hunter Hess secured his spot in the Final with a comfortable score of 85.00. After his run, he had a message for President Donald Trump.

After his successful qualifying run, Hess raised an "L" handsign above his head for all to see. Speaking to the media afterwards, he said that it was a response to President Trump calling him a loser for some comments he made about representing the United States in the Olympics two weeks prior.

"Apparently, I'm a loser," Hess said. "I worked so hard to be here. I sacrificed my entire life to make this happen. I'm not going to let controversy like that get in my way. I love the United States of America. I cannot say that enough. My original statement, I felt like I said that, but apparently people didn't take it that way. I'm so happy to be here, so happy to represent Team USA."...................

US President Donald Trump will not be travelling to Milan, as previously speculated, to watch the US face off Canada in the men's ice hockey final on Sunday, Italian news media reported on Saturday.

The US Consulate in Milan had been informed of the cancellation, the Corriere della Sera newspaper reported.

Earlier this week, Italian media reported that local security authorities had been preparing for a possible Trump visit. However, the security measures that had been prepared will remain in place for the time being – "even for a possible and sudden change of course," the newspaper reported.........................
