Have you ever been in a 4th of July parade as a kid or grown up? As a kid I was in the Bicycle Brigade. The town would

give a ten dollar prize to the best decorated bike. I had streamers. cards in my wheel spikes that made noise and balloons. I never won but it was fun. All participants got an ice ball.of their choice.

gloves and all. It was probably during Memorial Day parades. Right down Rt 22 in Monroeville .

My boyfriend worked for a local photographer and they sponsored me in the Miss Highland Park contest after the parade. I didn't win but it was fun.it

One of our members had a hay rack we would ride on. We always wore candidate shirts and we would throw candy usually.

The last few years we had a bubble machine and a Cookie Monster in candidate t-shirt.

For about 20 years, I've marched in the Coronado (CA) 4th of July Parade with out city's Democratic Club which is the oldest Democratic club in San Diego County. The course is one mile long, has 126 entrants, and is one of the larges parades is Southern California. I didn't march this year because I had a bad case of vertigo a couple of months ago I although I walk fairly well now, the slow pace of parade is hard for me to walk without "wobbling." I did march in the No Kings Day March and it was a bit difficult because there were 80,000 people, crowded, and I had to take small steps. Funny thing is I can walk fast without "wobbling."

First, as a Cub Scout, then as a Boy Scout, then as a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol, then as an adult member.

Then, there were the clown gigs and other performances in a parade.
