The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsUpdate: I'm **STILL** waiting for the car funds to happen! NO vehicle and utilities due!
Well I got the damn car sold, but they made the check in HER name of course...left the check with her Saturday.
She emailed my lawyer today saying she had to open a new bank account and it would be NEXT WEEK before she can send me a check for my half! (which now is already SPENT...not to mention the lawyer upcharges now @ $2800!)
Found a car for 5000, dont know what tax and registration will be. AND It's in Sacramento, so I either need to figure out another rental to get there, or take the greyhound and uber to the dealership... I wish I had friends who would drive me there. But they have lives.
Owe about $600 in utilities, gonna call all fo them and ask for extentions...
My Acupuncturist was gonna give me her office space to start seeing clients, but I can't DRIVE to the damn office until I get a new car... Uber is like 40 or more...not feasible. So I'm using this week to continue to get my ducks in a roow. Get client forms ready, etc.
Gonna sell some more of her crap she bought with MY money Got an AC portable unti worth $400, probably sell for $300... Got some useless stuff but it can get me a few bucks cash in the meantime. Gonna have to do Instacart for groceries, unfortunately that always costs more.
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of being patient and handling this "well"... I'm now struggling not to just be angry and defeated about everything...even though I know it's moving behind the scenes. ugh
Here's the Go Fund Me link - PLEASE share to your socials and tell other strangers I'm a good person who is just trying to get stable!

(21,874 posts)I just bought a used car. It is about 10% taxes and the fees (depending on the year of the car) will likely be about $150+.
You can pay online via the DMV I found out.
I'm still waiting to hear back from them after uploading the documents to the DMV website. They needed the pink slip, bill of sale and smog cert.
BEST OF LUCK FirstLight and you ARE making progress!
Call PG&E and see if they can help you out or direct you to local resources that will help pay your bill.
Take care,

(15,467 posts)My brain is fried, spent 90 min or so on the phone with hp trying to get my printer to work. Stupid microchip in the "instank ink" package was in her account name, so I can't override them and print...isn't THAT about a bitch? Stupid tech shit. Just let me fucking PRINT.
Anyway, the cartirges are on amazon for 29, so I went ahead and charged it cuz everything else is "in transit" The fucking ethers are messing with me! LOL
I AM making progress, got out the BIG whiteboard and mapped out the biz plan. so I know what needs to happen in each section of focus and when. Now I'm hitting the notebooks and putting everything in one place and in chapters or some kind of order. I need to perpare the ground for the sprout to show
I had lunch, ate a sandwich after the printer fiasco, ordered the damn generic ink with NO microchip while eating. Then cranked up the goddess/love/worthy music vibe and laid out on the deck, danced in the sun and played in the yard and sprinkler! Gotta feed that little soul child that needs to play ...and get some sun in the meantime!
now I'm gonna make some chai, settle in and go through the notebooks and consolidate paper piles while I change the music to a better focus/chill vibe. I love that by learning more about sound and the body in my classes, I appreciate it SO much more! Truly transformative when we have good vibes in our space
I think that's the work right now, I refuse to stress because I KNOW somehow I'll get through the next 2 weeks, just like I got thru the last 2 weeks

(21,874 posts)As soon as I install new cartidges on my HP 4500 Envy All-in-One, I always buy a new set of cartridges to have on hand on ebay.com.
Just this past week I won an auction for the cartridges I need (Genuine HP only is what I use -- do not like generic ones!). The price was just over $25.00 for both. That saved me about $50.00 or more!
When you get your life a bit more together, you might consider doing this so you will never run out of ink again.
Again, best of luck.

(15,467 posts)Since I've never missed a payment they were more likely to negotiate. I've got a disability claim in the workd too, maybe I can actually get some back pay?
Meanwhile, just waiting on the big chunk to pop. The donations have made me able to do those unilties and put some $ on my credit card for when I needs to uber or ren a car... I still gotta figure out how to get down to Sac and buy the damn car I want. At least this extra time has allowed me to research and find good options for under $6000

I'm loving my 2003 Toyota Camry LE. I had NO transportation for over two months and had to rely on senior citizen volunteers. Giant ...

Whatever you decide to perhaps buy, have it checked out by a mechanic, that's what I did.
Best of luck FirstLight!!

(15,467 posts)I LOVE that car/suv... have had two others in the past, One got totaled by a rear-ender, and the other one I gave to my kid who was struggling. (He traded it of course ...)
I have done all the background on the type, year, etc. And have also checked the Carfax report. I am NOT telling the dealership I'm coming cuz I don't want them to move it before a test drive...gonna go to the lot and see if there's any leaks/drips under it...
It's got 130K miles and I already know they do great in snow, and can tow up to 3500 Lbs, so my dream of getting a little camping trailer might happen

(21,874 posts)Words were, "Sweet deal. Snap 'er up!". And, so did just that.
I'm thrilled after no car for two months and the senior citizen drivers.
Out of that situation for now anyway.
