Tricksy and the bunnies

I adopted a very sweet, very neurotic little red coon hound almost 5 years ago. We were out for a walk, following Tricksy's nose as usual, when we came upon a patch of what my kids call monkey grass at the base of a neighbor's mailbox. She shoved her nose in, and kept on shoving deeper and deeper into it. All of a sudden, the grass erupted with a bunch of baby rabbits. They scattered in all directions, and Tricksy just stood there, dumbfounded. She doesn't chase smaller animals, and this was no exception. I was concerned that the babies wouldn't be able to get back to their nest, so we moved along quickly. But I'll never forget the expression on my dear doggie's face.
