Oasis Fans Set Beer Record at Wembley by Downing 250,000 Pints Per Night

https://consequence.net/2025/08/oasis-beer-record-wembley-stadium/

Beer vendors have literally had their hands full keeping up with demand at Oasis’ ongoing run of reunion shows at Wembley Stadium. As first reported by The Caterer (via The Times), attendees have downed a record-setting amount of 250,000 pints per night.

Based on data released by the stadium’s catering company, Delaware North, Oasis fans have far outpaced last year’s shows from Coldplay (around 120,000 pints) and Taylor Swift (40,000).

Navigating logistics for moving 4,500 kegs in and out of the venue was a challenge that Delaware North has “not had to deal with before,” the catering services director confirmed to The Caterer. To find the necessary space, the company fought what they described as a “turf war” to convert previously unused areas under escalators and cupboards into cold storage.

Similarly, Oasis’ earlier shows at Heaton Park were a boon to their hometown of Manchester, leading the city to open a £250,000 fund to help support local music venues.

And those pints, according to one article I read, were priced at over £8. So £2 million a night for beer. Over $2.6 million dollars. It's quite a party.

This tour is already historic in a number of ways, and I probably should have expected this one, after seeing Oasis fans quoted talking about needing to pick up 4 pints of beer before the band's own two-hour set started, after the support acts...and after downing God knows how many pints before that.

I'm really enjoying the stories about the shows and the videos from the shows, posting a lot about them in Music Appreciation. A number of the news stories have mentioned the drinking - and these are very.happy drinkers, overjoyed with the band's reunion, not angry drunks.

From a review the other day, which I posted at https://www.democraticunderground.com/1034149011 :

I Saw Oasis At Wembley And It Was The Greatest Stadium Show Of My Life

The importance of this sing-along aspect cannot be overestimated when assessing Oasis’ music. After this concert, I’m now convinced that it’s the cornerstone of their appeal. Noel Gallagher is not a great or even cogent lyricist, and his melodies can sometimes seem a little samey. But when it comes to writing songs that large groups of individuals in various states of inebriation can sing in unison, perfectly, Bob Dylan and Beethoven have nothing on him. He is the absolute genius of that very specific art form.

And on this tour Cigarettes & Alcohol is getting a lot of attention because Liam has the fans linking arms before the song starts, and then you can feel the stadium shake.

That second video was the night before last. Oasis tweeted the view from the stage:

ago.

Including video I posted last night of the entire 7/30 show.

The reviews have been amazing. I've never seen reviews like what they're getting. Biblical, as Liam would say.

And there are A-list filmmakers doing the tour film, too, which should be incredible.

Great as it is to have all the fan videos, I'm really looking forward to the professionally shot film, which will mean seeing the concert like this, from the film of Knebworth in August 1996.
