Well, gotta buy another 10 pound bag of sugar.....my hummers have not stopped drinking for the last week.

My 10 pound bag of sugar is almost gone…..and when I buy another one it’ll be gone in about a month. 😅 little buggars. Heard they always remember flowers and feeding places, so this is what happened last year buy sugar, and fill the feeders dang near every other day. But…..I absolutely love these hummers.

and there are several new varieties of porterweed. It doesn't freeze back in Florida and blooms all year. Tomorrow I'm taking a bunch of cuttings to grow a new hedge.

2. It must be a banner year for hummers. We haven't seen one for several years until this summer.

On the evening of July 4th, while watching the fireworks from our deck, a female hummer spent 15-20 minutes at the flowers in containers on the deck — within 5-6 feet of us.

With flower volume down, they are scratching the bottom.

I have names for all mine…..bobber, guzzler, gazer, bomber, and flighty. 5 hummers, most are females. It’s funny, have seen females all drink at the same time, but when the red neck male comes around, all the females quit drinking and let “him” drink.
