"Redemption's Last Chance" by Elijah ROBERTS - song "Pursuit"

O.K., so I'm an enrollee of The University of YouTube. Skipping all the background of my currcula there, also am struck by stunning melodies. A year ago I searched high and wide to track down a piece of Baroque that was the intro to a "Perspective" video on that period, no luck. So over the recent past, in a video franchise of History exposes, there's been this hitherto not known piece (below) and finally got around to doing the Shazam on it, with the result that it is Redemption's Last Chance by Elijah ROBERTS. For the record, Shazam didn't work for the Baroque piece.

So googling on Redemption and Elijah ROBERTS, got nothing but the music videos on it. The second video below breaks down the (songs?) with their names, and my fixated one is named "Pursuit." I'll say this that when the first video started, my dog Lucky picked up his head and was hypnotized and head-turning, which before this he's only done to sustained choral things like Gregorian chants and low moaning music from a Chinese movie.

But there are usually unforseen twists, and in the search there was a scifi movie "Last Chance at Redemption" with no mention of Elijah ROBERTS (post #1). Who knows if there is a connection.

As for this first video, the album is named "The Past of Burdens" and what's with the ink blot cover pic - looks like Don Quixote (dental hat cut out) on horse Rocinante tilting in the background, ugh a single blade razor, ugh a noose?, anchor, blots? Who is Elijah ROBERTS?

At the 1:36 mark, "Pursuit"

At the 1:31 mark, "Pursuit"

Last Chance at Redemption
PLOT

Our story takes place in a world devoid of resources. The desperate few who remain fight over the resources that remain. Watching over the chaos is the Matriarch, Auburn Ashley, a supernatural being worshiped by The Scavenger, Kamden. Gifts nor prayer are The Matriarch's chosen form of worship, but violence. Our story begins when the Scavenger seeks to fulfill his pious duty, pursuing The Stranger, Michael Ude, but is defeated instead. The Matriarch haunts him for his failure figuratively and literally, until The Scavenger reaches a breaking point and The Matriarch pulls him into her realm where she confronts his failure. However, all is not lost. The Matriarch gives The Scavenger a pick-me-up with the eventual promise of continued favor. Patience is all that is asked. That and the implied "don't fail me again." Renewed vigor in the Scavenger and patience allows The Scavenger to bide his time as he waits for his last chance at redemption.

Let My Life Be Last - Elijah Robert

We produce, make and create music to inspire those who struggle and need music to escape. We are all about helping people, which is why we put so much passion into each song. Our first album, The Past of Burdens, was by our member, Elijah Robert. It's a concept album telling a story. Our second album is heavily influenced by Hard Rock. We are working on a third album (early 2025) . And yes, this will have lyrics.

3. It's X-rock?! - well, all I am interested in is that swatch of nonverbal melody. Thanks for the info!

5. As I always say, I'm totally *MELODY* driven, only consider lyrics in the supportive/effective/secondary role.

Melody is *ALL*. Despite having a passing musical background that I've left behind - seldom pursuing it to play, only serendipitously seizing on it when it pops up in the car radio or juke box - I have ZERO clue as to what almost all songs "mean" by their lyrics, don't even know what the lyrics are! And that can sometimes get me in "trouble," if I play something for the melody/of course and somebody gets an odd impression because of the lyrics identity.

And, as I always say, I don't idolize individual performers or genres, neither of those taken for the whole of themselves - except for detesting whole genres and their performers (jazz, rhythm-only stuff). If it ain't got a smashing *melody* it's got nothing for me.

So, as for the case at hand, all I was looking for was that bit of melody, and the bonus was that the whole video had some soaring parts. And I haven't heard this Creed thing below in years, but it's an example that the melody drew me back when and what-to-do afterward when the religious affiliation transpired (became known)?! But it's a common problem of what-to-do when a genius artist Richard WAGNER is a Nazi?

Can't help/stop being drawn to a melody or whatever work of art, but the unsettling *thought* will always be attached!

Thanks again for your knowledge, certainly satisfied my curiosity. And the religious facet of the *anchor* has been familiar to me - while mostly significant because of my Navy experience - and I put it on my headstone and a short-sleeved tattoo on my right arm. And long after that, about ten years ago, when I first saw my great-grandfather's stone, *there* was an anchor! But his was likely of the religious type.
