From The Daily Show: Recap of Fox News "Patriot Awards"

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Yonnie3 (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

This is from The Daily Show, so expect some laughs. . . But they're reporting on an awards show put on by Fox News, so don't expect too many laughs.

The one thought that kept coming to mind as I watched the curated clips is that the show was-- to quote someone that I would rather not quote-- "Low Energy". And that's when another thought hit me.

I've watched (while squirming) my share of clips from Trump's rallies, and most of them crackle with energy, but what kind of energy? Hate and anger is the obvious answer. And that is why the Fox News award program felt dull and lifeless. Those people don't know how to muster up real celebratory energy; what they feed on is simmering rage and resentment. Get them going on a rage fest and the place is buzzing. Try to capture happiness and goodwill and the vibe is flat.

But hey, don't take my word for it, see for yourself.

This would be better posted in General Discussion. Please consider posting it there. This is too political for the Lounge.
