The TV show Person of Interest was on 2011-16 & was a/b mass surveillance & AI

Nathan Ingram the blonde good looking guy was one of the 2 creators of The Machine which did do mass surveillance to find potential terrorists post 9/11 in the TV show.
It was programed as a black box, so that no human could adjust it's programing for any governments' benefit.

I wonder if this premise impacted Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei

Nathan & Denton Weeks & Alicia Corwan discussing how the machine works

Nathan Ingram F/U smirk to Denton Weeks is 🤌🤌 perfect.
This is about 2:20 into the clip

A/B Anthropic & the US Military demands.

snip-WASHINGTON (AP) — A public showdown between the Trump administration and Anthropic is hitting an impasse as military officials demand the artificial intelligence company bend its ethical policies by Friday or risk damaging its business.
Much more there

1. It was a great show, in spite of James Caviezel.

She was the woman cop. Her, the dog, and the tech guy were better than Caveizel.IMO. He's got about a quarter octave range and I'm not just talking about his voice.

3. Fortunately, the Mr. Reese character didn't require much acting.

Just look either sad or angry and handle weapons.

It got the job done.

7. I used to call the show "Actor Of No Interest", because Jim Caviezel is the most boring actor on Earth.

I resolutely refused to watch the show, largely due to that and his self-righteous Bible-thumping.

He was in "The Thin Red Line", and I don't even remember his performance.

One of my 5 favorite Science Fiction shows!

Addendum.
Nathan adds a ?sub program to help average people (not the potential terrorists) to see if a potential person is a victim, or perpetrator.

His partner Harold Finch (Michael Emnerson) genius computer guy I think doesn't like it but eventually goes all in. Caveziel (John) is the enforcer, or protector guy, and does a good acting job.

Three strong main women characters! Detective Carter (Tarazi Henson), Root/Miss Shaw genius computer woman (Amy Acker), and Samin government agent assassin (Sarah ?).
(Actually a semi 5th protagonist Control - C Manheim)

Finally to round up the main cast Detective Fusco (Kevin ?) Carter's partner.

I did a rewatch, but not in a few yrs bc they took it off free streaming. (boo).

I love watching new shows, but always enjoy my favorites in rewatching.

Anyway still pay only...but it dawned on me tonight to look up clips on YT.
And, yay, I've found a whole bunch!

Glad you brought it up as a DU lounge OP. It probably wouldn't have occurred to me to check YT. 👍🙂
