?si=-ZjVf00cCtXRcAhLThis works the same way Temple Grandin's cattle press works for persons on the autism spectrum, by calming their autonomic (automatic) nervous system.
I suggest smoothing out the Ace bandage (or scarf) across the pet's sides to get more surface coverage.
Also helpful: Bach Rescue Remedy (can be found at most pet stores, holistic vets, and health food stores.) and FES 5-Flower Essence -- same as Rescue Remedy, just a different brand.
Hugs to all the fur kids out there who will suffer because of humans...
On edit: you can also use a scarf.

(26,900 posts)1. Would this help with an anxious cat whose vet visits
turn into a nightmare of struggles? I have tried gabapentin prior to the appointment and a towel sprayed with Felliway in her carrier. They have been only little helpful.
At one appointment, she was visibly trembling in the waiting room before she was even examined.

It works on mammals' autonomic (automatic) nervous system to help calm it.
