(12,539 posts)Diarrhea is one symptom of many for both Celiac disease and non-Celiac gluten sensitivity.
There are gluten free Oreo's available on store shelves and they are made in a dedicated certified gluten free factory for those with Celiac (and non-Celiac sensitivity).
I'm speaking as a non-Celiac gluten sensitive person.

(27,873 posts)those good folks at Nabisco went out of their way to ensure people who are afflicted with such conditions can still enjoy their Oreos. What are the lettuce growers doing???

(12,539 posts)Lol!
It's crazy with what's happening.
At first I thought it was a water irrigation issue but it's 31 states that this is happening in.
I certainly hope that they figure it out soon. I like salads and sometimes I place regular hamburger patties on a bed of lettuce with fresh veggies.

Sung to the tune "Cold pizza for breakfast; warm coke to wash it down."
https://christinelavin.com/songs/f/COLD-PIZZA-FOR-BREAKFAST/
Some people eat grapefruit for breakfast
some people eat oatmeal
there are those who are sure
granola is a very good deal
but not me I don't go for that stuff
when it comes to nourishment I get more than enough
nuthin' satisfies my taste like sitting down to a great big plate
of cold pizza for breakfast
warm coke to wash it down
AAAH!
maybe a couple of pepperoni
make this meal well rounded
gimme cold pizza for breakfast
in a pinch cold spaghetti'll do
but there's nuthin' in the world that I like better
than eat cold pizza with you

(4,263 posts)Everything gets rinsed and thoroughly scrubbed first, especially if its a veggie that grows in or touches dirt like leafy veggies, any root veggies etc. I usually don't peel (there are lots of nutrients and good bugs in the skins of taters and carrots etc) but I have been lately. I've always gone the rinse/scrub/ice bath method which is generally good for knocking down the bad bugs (you want the good bugs so its give and take) but have added the heat for possible parasites, which can be stubborn to kill. This heated blanch in boiling water is only for veggies etc. I don't grow and/or from others gardens who grow similar to me. 1 minute or less if you hit it instantly into an ice bath leafy veggies still retain most of their crispness for salads etc. You can go up to 5 min for root veggies if you want them raw or for juicing. Isn't perfect but better than switching to hot dogs lol.
