I have never seen one--only a picture. Sure is adorable.
Translated from Arabic
This beautiful curly-haired cat is not an artificial intelligence creation but a real cat belonging to one of the rarest cat breeds in the world, scientifically and internationally known as the "Selkirk Rex" breed, classified as a natural breed resulting from a spontaneous genetic mutation, characterized by a strong, full-bodied frame, a round head, and thick fur that comes in varying degrees of waviness, including short and long varieties. The roots of this breed trace back to a stray cat found in an animal shelter in the state of Montana in the United States of America, adopted by a professional cat breeder named "Jerry Newman," who mated her with a cat from the "Black Persian" (Persian) breed, thereby officially beginning the breed's production lines from there.
This breed first appeared in 1987. It was officially recognized by major international feline care organizations (such as TICA and CFA) in the 1990s and the early 2000s.

(14,861 posts)I think a Devon, but I'm not up on all of them. They're pretty though apparently "some vets" wish people wouldn't buy them (even from reputable breeders, which is about the only place you can get them) because they have a predilection for polycystic kedney disease. WEell heck, everybody has something, and if you want a purebred cat, just make sure you go to a reputable breeder.
