Ebay seller, some advice?
Hi,
I made a purchase on Ebay, and unfortunately, the seller mis-measured the items by quite a bit. I'm willing to keep the items, and the seller has offered a partial refund.
My questions are...how long before my refund shows up on PayPal? Should I have opened a case? I didn't open a case because we've agreed on a solution.
The seller says she did the refund today, but I'm not seeing it on PayPal. Does is take a few days, or ?
Thanks so much!

(2,681 posts)Once the refund is paid, it will show up in both Ebay and Paypal. If the seller gave you a refund by echeck, it will show the payment pending, but you will still see it. If you are not verified, you have to "claim" the refund, but you will get messages from Paypal about it. It sounds like to me that the buyer has not refunded your money. You should file a "not as described" on Ebay right away and if the buyer gives the agreed partial refund, the case will automatically close. I have been selling on Ebay since 1998 under two names and have sold well over 10,000 items and have had just about every situation happen to me both as a seller and as a buyer. My advice is to close out the transaction as quickly as possible. If you don't get the item in a week, contact the buyer. If you don't get a reply, file with ebay, you can always cancel, but it will get the ball rolling and make the buyer know you are on the ball.
As a seller, there is nothing I hate more than for a buyer to contact me 4 weeks later wanting to know where their package is. It needs to be fresh on everyone's mind, especially if it is a postal problem, it is easier to resolve if the postman remembers the package which they generally will not after 3 or 4 weeks.
