I am not talented, but I have a daughter who is also an artist and I am always amazed at the work she creates. Actually, I'm a fan girl of all talents; having the will to put yourself out there is incredible. Kudos!!

she's done portraits (her business card is a portrait of her daughter), what I call stained glass art, she does work with tiny dots that creates the images, I own three of her abstract pieces, and she will soon be trying her hand at water colors. She has had three shows so far and all were very well received.

Re-reading the above, I'm sure you can tell that I don't know proper terms, just describing as best I can. She has a face book page under Camillustrations (Camille is her middle name).

Reminds me of how my kitties would try to get my attention and, good grief, they were so adorable when they did that. You've really caught that perspective for me. Kitties are not afraid of getting up close and personal.

Wish I could paint like that. I can draw and use colored pencil like that but to paint it? You are amazing and I am not worthy.

which I was until my eyes gave out. The equipment is big and bulky and doesn't move very well, although some do take sample looms off to workshops. Backstrap looms and card loo,s can be portable, but of course I had to get the heaviest sucker I could find.

Then again, I have to admit I chose it because it's a solitary pursuit.

I can still spin by touch and my wheel is portable, but I never seem to want to take it anywhere.

That's a beautiful kitty, beautifully painted. Do you work from photos? I did back in the dark ages when I did portraits.

Known people who wove and also spun their own yarn…yes, another lonely hobby good for long winters indoors…

My own artistic ability is rivaled only by my singing ability* so when I see the work of incredibly talented artists -- like the ones here) I have to pause and sigh in admiration.

(*I was a tin eared Johnny one note and that note was always off key.)

As an artist, I compete, unsuccessfully, with my 5 year old grandson whose Papa (my son) and Mama (his beautiful wife) are both amazingly talented. My son, fortunate child he, gets his talent from my wife. My daughter-in-law gets hers from heaven above. My grandson will follow in their footsteps.

You've cropped out the empty food bowl or elaborate kitty mess the eyes are imploring the observer about!

That is very good! I especially like your use of color in the fur and eyes: subtle and interesting. It took me a long time to find anything that might conceivably be a mistake, so don't go overboard in "fixing"!
