(10,785 posts)Things like that always look so much easier than they really are. And I don't see a single thing (other than a few pixel-sized pigment gaps) that could be better.
For that style of work, btw, I like a heavier ground than usual, such as Gamblin's oil painting ground, which fills the dips that you tend to get in the canvas weave a little better. A little smoother surface is more ideal if you aren't going heavy on the brushwork.
Framing on small canvasses is key. I like to start with the frame, really, where you can find something small and ornate, and then create a painting to fill the frame.

bhikkhu
(10,785 posts)and I taught painting classes to kids when my ex-wife and I owned an art supply store for awhile. I'm not sure I was a very good teacher, but it was always pretty enjoyable.
LiberalLoner
(11,456 posts)At a local art store.
I dream of someday seeing the roche pastel store and also Sennelier, in Paris! Wont happen but I dream.
And classes! Not a week goes by that I dont look back fondly at art classes I was in as a young person
.mostly it was so wonderful to work with other people also working at art. Making art alone in a studio gets very very lonely.
How cool that you did such wonderful things for your community!

(11,456 posts)Glimmers, reflection of the light off the wet oil paint tbh there dont appear to be unpainted spots in real life I have the hardest time taking photos of my oil paintings without those shiny things is it just me, is there a trick to taking a photo of a still wet oil painting? Im so clueless
bhikkhu
(10,785 posts)and I'm not an expert on that at all. I think generally the more diffuse light the better, like a north-facing window. I have a reflective umbrella I use with a good full spectrum bulb to get a good color-correcting light on the canvas when painting, and that might work well for photographing them as well, haven't tried yet.

(11,456 posts)Breast has two masses with edges that make the masses suspicious.
Its unusual to have cancer in both breasts at the same time. I always was different.
Ive been having night sweats and Im been over menopause close to ten years. Looks like its spread, maybe, is what I am thinking. Well. lets see what comes next. I really hate pain, though.
