Kidding aside, I really do wonder how he got his hands on so many different textures and hues. I can't imagine the patience of sorting them out.

It’s the throes of swirling artistic creativity taking over. It’s more akin to a fever than to calm rational thought.

Even from a photo, it'd be so hard going through the swatches looking for just the right shade. I'd think.

All the swatches go on some work of art. The artist may have many piles going at once for different projects.

And I bet the colors, fading and age of the denim bring pleasure in themselves.
