A sad loss in our Classic Films community

Dear Classic Films folks, it is with grief that I must report that one of our longtime members has died.

Many of you will no doubt remember Matilda, who posted most often in the Australia forum but also brought a brilliant perspective to discussions here. Some months back I noticed she had stopped posting, and recently her son sent me a message to tell me that his mum died in February.

Matilda's son said his mum would be pleased to be remembered here at DU, and so I mean to honor her in ways that reflect how she lived her life. She supported progressive policies, of course, and another of her causes was protecting animals, so I mean to donate to organizations that will help both domestic doggos and kitties and animals of her native Australia.

And she admired Nelson Eddy, so I hope that the next time you see a Nelson Eddy-Jeanette MacDonald movie, you will think of our friend.

Rest in power.
