It is too bad that Part III (or now "The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone" ) got somewhat short thrift by not being quite on the same level as the first two films.

(Slight spoiler - if such a thing is possible for a film from 1992): Although, to me as a father of three girls, the anguish of Michael on the steps of the Palermo Opera House when his daughter Mary is shot and killed by the assassin in the attempt on his life, is an acting class by Pacino for the ages. His anguished scream and horror is haunting in a way that few sequences on film can match.
