In graduate school as a conducting minor, one of my requirements was to rehearse and conduct the first sections of this piece. Because there are many time signature changes, it was quite challenging.

For my masters recital, one of the pieces I conducted was Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks Concerto. It was a bear-and-a-half to learn, rehearse and perform. It was a stretch but the efforts served me well later in my music career.

Stravinsky was one of my favorite composers. He wrote the Concerto when he was in a so-called Neo-Classical phase. In my personal opinion, it's more of a Neo-Baroque composition as it seems to me to elicit one of my other favorite composer, J.S. Bach.

back a ways ago. Regarding *a certain university*.

I danced strictly ballet for 9 years and I guess that instilled a fondness for classical. I lean towards other 'popular' music also 'tho.

I keep our local univ. station on 24 hrs. Weekdays play classical after about 7p. thru the nite. I hear selections that are appealing, search for them n post if successful.
