(57,553 posts)3. One of the early (1968) songs George cowrote with their bass player, Rinus Gerritsen, who the next
year became his brother-in-law. George and Rinus cowrote a lot of their songs at first. Then for a few years George did all the songwriting, and then he started writing songs with lead singer Barry Hay, letting Barry write the lyrics for most of their songs (not all; Barry came up with the lyrics for Radar Love, while George wrote Twilight Zone by himself).

with the band for some reason down in a construction pit for the Amsterdam Metro.
The drummer there, Jaap Eggermont, was replaced in 1969 by Sieb Warner - he can be seen in their video for Another 45 Miles - who was replaced in 1970 by Cesar Zuiderwijk, creating the lineup (with Kooymans, Hay, and Gerritsen) that lasted till they disbanded a few years ago.
