Oasis Storm Back to U.K. No. 1 as First Leg of Live '25 Tour Concludes (Billboard) + drone show over Dublin last night

Oasis is back at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart as the first leg of their Live ‘25 reunion tour comes to a close in Dublin, Ireland this weekend (Aug. 15).

Time Flies… 1994-2009, the group’s era-spanning singles collection first released in 2010, returns to the summit for its second non-consecutive week this year and third overall. There’s success for two of their studio albums, too, as 1995’s (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? Lands at No. 3 and 1994 debut Definitely Maybe closes at No. 7.

The Gallagher brothers will play a pair of shows in the Irish capital this weekend, rounding off the U.K. and Ireland leg of their comeback jaunt. The show will head to North America next week, kicking off at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium on Aug. 24.

As they did for Edinburgh, Oasis gave Dublin a drone show last night, the night before their first concert there - which starts in a couple of hours.

Tweeted from their account on X this morning:

And the song they're using for that tweet:

‘Round Are Way’ (1995)
Back in 1995, when Noel was coming up with more good songs than he knew what to do with, “Round Are Way” — its title a Slade-ian misspelling of the Mancunian expression for “in our neighborhood” — was one of three tracks consigned to the B-side of “Wonderwall.” Essentially an update of Madness’s “Our House,” this merrily nostalgic ode to growing up in the Manchester suburb of Burnage features a stomping glam-rock beat, “Got to Get You into My Life”-like horns, burning blues harp from Nine Below Zero’s Mark Feltham, and evocative lyrics about naughty paperboys and 25-a-side football matches. “Round Are Way” is still rightly hailed as one of Oasis’ finest non-album tracks. —D.E.

I agree. It'll be really interesting to see how much of that incredible excitement carries over to the US, highplainsdem Aug 16 #2

Incredible. The whole thing is incredible. And it's just been getting bigger with every show. Liam and Noel often cite the Beatles. This tour is having a Beatlesque cultural impact in the UK.

the 5 shows between August 28 and September 7. Britpop never had that much impact here, though people argue over why it didn't. On Steve Hoffman's music forum, there's a 60-page thread about it: https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/why-was-90s-britpop-oasis-pulp-etc-not-big-in-the-us.934947/
