Chaka was destined to be an icon and Rufus didn't do too badly

We knew Rufus back just before and during this song being a hit.
They were really tight live. All very professional.
This was early to mid 70s so they were all still quite young, but pros. When we first met them they were only together around a year.
We had recurring backstage passes and they came to the shows once or twice a year for at least 4 years.
Very nice bunch of people.

She didn't leave Rufus until the early 80s.

This is still my favorite Chaka Khan song. She went through a period where she used, it might have been her boyfriend but it was a keyboard, I don't know if it was a synthesizer or what but for me it really ruined her songs
