A Ass Pocket of Whiskey is a collaborative effort between well-known artists RL Burnside and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Recorded in a rented out hunters cabin near Holly Springs, Mississippi, both acts bring their best to the table with amps turned all the way up, drums pounding and R.L. and Jon Spencer screaming with their charismatic voices back and forth at one another.

Samantha Fish, the genre-defying blues-rock powerhouse, proudly announces the return of her Shake ‘Em On Down Tour for its third annual edition. Fish will again headline an electrifying lineup showcasing the best in modern blues. This year’s tour features Grammy-nominated Cedric Burnside, a North Mississippi Hill Country Blues torchbearer, and the return of blues-punk legend Jon Spencer. The tour kicks off on December 10th, in Carmel, Indiana.

Samantha Fish Tears Through Northern California with a Pair of Barnburners (reviews from 2024 Shake 'em All Down tour)

Blues sensation Samantha Fish recently barnstormed through Northern California with a trio of fantastic shows. One was in Grass Valley at the Center for the Arts, another was at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey, and the final one was at the Fillmore in San Francisco. SF Sonic was there for two of the three shows.

Fish was headlining a tour featuring two fantastic guest artists, Cedric Burnside and Jon Spencer. They were the perfect two to have on tour. It was Fish’s intention with this tour, to honor the Mississippi Hills blues style, which she grew up listening to while discovering music as a youngster in Kansas. One of the particular artists that turned her on to this style of music was the swaggering stylings of R.L. Burnside. And both of these guys have a connection to him in more ways than one.
