I remember the landing approach into Seattle from the east in the '80s would give us a clear look at the massive clear cuts the PNW forests suffered during the Reagan/Jim Watt era.

These clear cuts appear much more recent than the '80s observations. But even scarred, it's a beautiful place to be, compared to anyplace urban...period.
