a nebula 3'fer from my backyard

in the center is M78,sometimes called the casper the ghost nebula. just above it to the right is NGC 2067 above tot he left is NGC 2071
all 3 nebulae are reflection nebulae,lit by starlight reflecting off the interstellar dust in the nebulae and are about 1350 light years away. they are all part of the giant molecular cloud that includes the orion nebula

......the vastness of space and time that it reveals to us always amazes me. But with this, you're out in your backyard doing it firsthand. I'm envious.

im in a close in suburb of austin texas witha lot of light pollution. there are filters that really help with LP for nebulas
