Related: About this forumAround the new and smaller farm.
This note was left us by the former homeowners. This is the beginning and the end, in between were listings of manuals and maintenance tips.
Flooring throughout the house is LVP, Luxury Vinyl Plank. There are neat patterns in it.
Shadow amongst the move-in mess.
KC looking out the kitchen window.
There's no irrigation here. Laurie's set up her lawn sprinkler for now.
We have robins coming around. They like the sprinkling.
From the driveway.
From the backyard.

(8,048 posts)Laurie has a pretty good idea when the time'll be right to try him outside. Shadow goes out by herself from time to time but she prefers us to go out with her. We're settling little by little. Thank You!

(97,333 posts)Appears you my have gained some elevation? You have more trees now.
George McGovern
(8,048 posts)Laurie loves it here in the trees. I don't mind them.

Thanks for taking us along for the ride, my dear Allan!

(11,089 posts)adventures. The sky from the back yard and the driveway will have great potential for some wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Laurie is working hard.
I like this place. May you have as much joy here as at the former farm.
PS: I love those floors.

(8,048 posts)These floors are really neat. In late afternoon sunlight shadows fall upon them, like with Laurie's $29.00 cheap but effective hand truck on the kitchen floor.

Re KC settling in - I wonder if a new cat bed or small piece of furniture, a cat-specific happy surprise, might help her decide the new home has a real bonus just for her.
How close are you to places you'll want to shop, and to medical care? My rural relatives love farm life, but shopping and medical care are mostly 30 miles away.

(8,048 posts)Far as new furniture, he has a new litter containment system coming. Once it's set up we'll get some pictures. According to amazon, the "top entry kitty litter tray offers a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution to your cat's bathroom needs. With the top entry kitty litter box, everything stays inside and out of sight, and the enclosed design lessens the prevalence of unpleasant odors in the room, something that's sure to make everyone in the family happy."
We'll see how it goes.
We are much closer to shopping and medical care. That's one of the features we were looking for before moving. Where we were took twenty minutes to town and forty-five minutes to the larger city. Now a grocery store, gas station and dentist and other options are but five minutes or less; fifteen twenty for greater choices. I can empathize with your rural relatives, but we needed a compromise.

(23,062 posts)That, to me, would be very reassuring making the house your home. Got some elbow room and yet closer to places that wont seem like a day trip. Ill add my best wishes with everyone here and add that Im so happy for you and Laurie, Shadow and KC. 🌺
