Related: About this forummonkey portrait; ISO 5600 and I cropped away 70% of the image!
high ISO shot on a 45MP sensor, deeply cropped.
I'm experimenting with smaller apertures (which, of course, drives the ISO up) with the 500mm f/5.6 to get more sharpness and depth of field on these types of shots. because I needed to crop heavily to get the tight portrait I wanted, this image went from 45MP image to about 14MP...that usually kills detail and increases noise on a high ISO shot. the AI noise reduction on the adobe products has really improved and since the last software update, you can do the NR and then back off or increase the NR with a slider.

(10,409 posts)are these around your house or in a park? If around the house, are they intrusive at all?

(10,168 posts)....they usually stop by once or twice a day and i can sometimes get so close to them that i'm closer than the minimum focus distance of the nikkor 500mm f/5.6 PF.
if i'm not home, my doors are all closed, otherwise, yes, they would likely come into the house looking for food.
