It looks like the hand of the creator, forming the universe out of the indeterminate or undifferentiated, untethered mass and energy. It's a powerful cosmic photograph. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work.

No later than that. More often 3:30am.

First newscast was at 6am and you had to be on duty AT LEAST by then, to catch up on everything from the day before AND what was expected in the day ahead. It was very weird. Dragged my sorry ass in while it was still dark and the morning jock wasn’t even in yet.

But it was nice to be pretty much done even before the office staffers and management folks checked in. And I missed ALL of morning drive traffic!

I was blessed/cursed with a good voice. So I usually got the morning drive news slot. In radio, morning drive is THE shift to have. And if you listen around, you’ll soon notice that all the big names worked that timeslot. So, as much as I hated that alarm clock going off at 3:30am, the commute in to work was ALWAYS a breeze. The freeways were ALL MINE - well along with the milk man and one or two cop cars! And it was kinda neat for me, thinking of SOOOOOOOO many people, young and old, rich and poor, famous and not famous, all over Southern California who were waking up - to ME!

It was also quite a rush thinking that management wanted me on there, on that shift. In L.A., mornings were where all the big celebrity jocks could be found. Robert W. Morgan, Dean Goss, Rick Dees, Jeff Gonzer, and more!

I hated waking up that early. I was always a night person, so it was hard having a regular weekly schedule so off-kilter from everybody else, including everyone I knew and/or was somehow related to. But the ego stroke was mighty powerful, gotta say! And whenever I got down in the dumps, just knowing management wanted ME on there, in that golden timeslot, usually provided a pick-me-up. I never got the kind of pay those bigtime jocks got, but it still worked out well.

according to google - "...chestnut brown canary, ruby-throated sparrow" metaphorically, a "ruby-throated sparrow" can refer to a pleasant, musical, or sweet-sounding speaking voice.
The bird is a poetic metaphor used to describe a woman’s beautiful singing and speaking voice.

Southern Californians must have enjoyed your voice, especially waking up to you and getting a good, easy-on-the-ear start to their days. Even, perhaps, when the news you read was not so nice.

Thanks for the background calimary.
