The Shining film Scatman Crothers'

Characters death upsets me. He lives in the book and gets them out of there. I wish the movie ended like that.

reading the book yet he was perfect in that role. In other words, it's a good thing I'm not a producer or director.

I can see the need to adapt certain elements for film or TV, but when the story is significantly altered, it really bugs me, and I have a hard time ignoring the discrepancies. Especially when it's a great original work that gets defiled. Changing the ending to a Stephen King novel seems sacrilegious to me. And Thomas Harris, don't even get me started with what they did to Hannibal.

I stopped watching The Walking Dead when it diverged from the graphic novel story line, which was so good to begin with. Too frustrating, I just couldn't watch it anymore.
