I've Been Fortunate That My Satellite TV Provider Has Run The Whole 1st Season Of The Pitt.......

I don't have streaming capabilities - so I was glad that I've been able to watch 'The Pitt' on my satellite TV.

I'm a medical professional myself - a retired pharmacist - and I have spent quite a bit of my pharmacy career in a hospital environment.

I have to applaud the people that bring us the show 'The Pitt'. In my opinion - it is the most realistic medical TV show I've ever watched. They capture the essence of life in a big city hospital and a overburdened ER department. The situations that they portray in this show tug at every emotion in my body.

I have to give kudos to the writers, the cast and the people that portray the patients and their significant others.

I hope they win every imaginable award for this portrayal.

I'm glad that the show is renewed for a second season and given the political situation in our country - this program can do a lot of good - by touching upon some of those issues that makes this country more dangerous by the day.

One issue that I would hope that they would approach is the 'gun issue' and the destruction of the human body by automatic weapons.

I know it's been suggested that the media should show pictures of how a human body is destroyed by these automatic weapons. The powers that be have kept such pictures from us Americans - saying that we couldn't handle seeing this mutilation.

A show like The Pitt, however, could portray a mass shooting and with the magic of computer generated (fake) images could provide us with a very realistic view of just what these automatic weapons can do to a human body - and the impact it has on everyone that has to deal - with initially - the mass shooting itself and recovery of the bodies and the aftermath of the impact on the families and loved ones of the victims.

I'm including this here because the shooting in Minneapolis was just too much for me to deal with these last few days - and I think the writers of The Pitt can open the eyes of many Americans about this issue. They have a forum for which to handle such societal, political and real situations that this country faces on a day to day basis.

Again - my congrats to the people that bring us The Pitt and I hope that their success continues with this program - well beyond Season 2.

Look forward to season 2. Great characters and a realistic depiction of an emergency room.

I worked my way through prepping for Nursing School drawing blood all over the hospital. Then put myself through Nursing School by working in the ER. What a trip that is. It sure readied me for whatever came next and THAT was working in the ICU for the rest of my time.

I was amazed how good The Pitt was. Thankfully where I worked it was not always THAT chaotic but it was pretty often. LOVED it.
