Tucson City Council primary election is Tuesday

Tucson Democrats will have their say Tuesday in three primary races for Tucson City Council.

Democratic voters in Tucson’s Ward 3 will decide between incumbent Kevin Dahl and challenger Sadie Shaw. The winner will face Republican Janet “JL” Wittenbraker in November’s general election.

In Ward 5, voters will choose between Democrats Selina Barajas, Chris Elsner and Jesse Lugo.

Since no Republican is running in Ward 5, the primary winner will take the seat, barring the unlikely successful challenge by a write-in candidate in the general election.
